SUSTAINABILITY REPORT

Our Road to a better world

Sustainability and trust towards employees, suppliers, producers and customers are not a trend for us, but a tradition.

The global fashion label LUISA CERANO is part of the HAUBER Group, which was founded in 1870. It is still family-owned today and is managed by the 5th generation. Sustainability and trust towards employees, suppliers, producers and customers is not a trend for us, but a tradition. At all times in the more than 150-year history of the company, holistic action and social responsibility have been our aspiration.

OUR COMPANY

All departments of the HAUBER Group are bundled in our energy-efficient company building. The majority of processes take place here: Operations, Sales, Design, Atelier and Logistics Center are all under one roof. The supply chain to our external service providers is also managed in a way that conserves resources and energy.

OUR CLIMATE RESPONSIBILITY

As part of our climate targets, we are making great efforts to reduce energy consumption and the associated greenhouse gas emissions. We support the implementation of the 21st UN Climate Change Conference in Paris in 2015 and are committed to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Efficient management of our properties is at the heart of these efforts. In recent years, we have invested many millions of euros in the energy-efficient refurbishment of our buildings.

Conversion of lighting systems to electronic ballasts with low power loss

Thanks to the thermal building envelope, we were able to upgrade the façades to the latest thermal insulation standards. In addition, heat-insulating glazing was installed. A large part of the roof is equipped with a photovoltaic system and the rest is planted with greenery. The inner courtyards on the upper floors have also been planted. The ventilation technology was renewed, a combined heat and power plant was installed and a heat recovery system was added. The lighting systems were converted to electronic ballasts with low power loss.

COTTON

POLYESTER

Consists partly of recycled material.

VISCOSE

Made largely from certified renewable wood sources, in a manufacturing process that meets high environmental standards.

WOLLE

We ensure that the sheep are kept free from mulesing.

FOLIEN

Are recyclable and in the thinnest possible design.

PAPER

Originates from sustainable and environmentally friendly forest management.

PRODUCTION AND TRANSPORTATION

All partners are obliged to implement our Code of Conduct, which contains the most important principles of the UN Global Compact.

FAIR PRODUCTION 75% of our products are manufactured in Europe. We have long-term, in some cases decades-long relationships with our production partners and have built up mutual trust. We ensure that the companies are certified and their employees are trained to the high LUISA CERANO standards. We support our partners at all times to ensure compliance with our Code of Conduct and the principles of the UN Global Compact.

PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGY Our knitwear is produced on the most modern machines, which work according to elaborate fully fashioned and seamless technology. This means low material consumption and minimal cutting waste.

TRANSPORT CO2 emissions have been reduced by switching non-European goods transportation from air to rail/sea and climate-neutral parcel shipping.
